Sitting between people I call my friends, listening to them spit out lies, secrets slip out
between their lips with eyes full of hatred towards people they act to love. That’s when I
started to watch their masks crack. What makes me wonder is how they have the heart to
look at the person in the eye and laugh in their faces after saying false things about them. I
would never dare look at myself in the mirror after saying something behind a person’s
back. They do it so casually like it’s a daily thing. That’s when I realized how dark their
hearts are. And that’s when I watched their masks collapse from the weight of the
dirt inside their filthy souls.
